Guest Heart Thursday #116

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

Halcyon has been 'round the world.
Quite literally!
I love her blog, "Halcyon Travels" - because I get to visit other places through her eyes.

Do you see the heart this cherub is holding?

Thank you, Halcyon, for sharing the world - and your heart!
When Judy over at "Lilac Gate" sent me a link to Hilda's blog, "Hilda's Naturblogg", I couldn't wait to head on over. I'm so glad I did!!!

Hilda's photos are magical ... although I couldn't understand a word on her blog.
Then I found the "translate" button (I know, I'm a little slow sometimes) - and her words are magic as well.

Thank you, Hilda, for sharing your heart!
(Thank you Judy for sending me the link!)

I have been in awe of the talented Michelle for a long time.
She has inspired me so much!!!
Don't you just love the hearts she incorporated into her latest painting?

This is the complete picture -  isn't it awesome?

Michelle has an amazing ability to make beautiful art out of what most people would consider trash. I highly encourage you to visit Michelle over at "Yesterday's Trash" - I just know you will find some inspiration there as well!

Thank you, Michelle, for your inspiration - and for sharing your heart!

Robert's blog, "Daily Athens Photo" provides a glimpse of Athens that you won't see on the news.
He somehow combines current events, historical facts, as well as compelling and beautiful poetry in his photos and words ...

Robert recently posted this picture ... to publicize an art auction for charity.

The links to the wonderful charities supported are found on Robert's post HERE.

Thank you, Robert, for sharing your heart!

As always - a huge thank you to all who linked up with Guest Heart Thursday last week. I loved seeing all of the delightful and amazing hearts you found in your world!

A Heart for Teri

Today's date - Tuesday, June 26 - has been stuck in my mind.
Why, I wondered.

Then I remembered.
Today is the day Teri goes in for surgery!
She's been in pain for a long time - and today is the day to get it fixed.
If you haven't met Teri, she is a wonderful photographer, artist and friend.
She and her sister share hearts, and warm MY heart.

So I give this heart to you, Teri, along with my thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery - and a quick recovery.

Hit by Heart!

The sidewalk is torn up right now; the old one was narrow and cracked ... making it nearly impossible for Dad to go anywhere now that he has his new walker.
With help from the Church, up came the old sidewalk, and the forms were prepared for a new one.
That was Saturday - today is the day the cement truck is coming to pour the new walk.

Anyway, I was just standing there under the oak tree, listening to the morning bird symphony when suddenly ...

"WHACK"! Something hit me on the head.
I looked down - it was a "bug house" - with a heart!
Then - whack! thunk! whack!
Little bits of oak tree were landing all around (and on) me!

Ouch!

I looked up - waaaaaaay up into the oak tree.
Who was hitting me with heart???

It was a squirrel ... looking for a treat.
And GIVING one instead!

The Ups and Downs of Shadows

Looking Up, the shadow of a fly on a variegated willow leaf showed clearly against the sky ...

Looking Down, a shadow heart appeared.

See more shadowy pictures over at "Shadow Shot Sunday"!

Guest Heart Thursday #115

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

(This is a shortened version of GHT --- our internet has been "down" since Sunday ... Customer Support said it wouldn't come back until tomorrow. I was shocked when I got up this morning and it was working - intermittently. So I am hoping to finish this post before it goes down again!)

One of my favorite found hearts was posted last week by Judy over at "Lilac Gate".
Judy loves nature ... and it shows.
I especially love her macros!!!
You'll need to check out her blog to see what I mean.

Thank you, Judy, for sharing your heart!

Soggy Ceiling Tile Heart

The roof at The Abandoned is leaking ...
What few roofing tiles that remain are quietly falling to the floor ...
Saturated.

Sometimes they fall down in pieces.
And become hearts!

Playing with Hearts ...

This is the original picture as I took it ...
I liked the way the shaft of sunshine highlighted the graffiti heart.

I have said it before and I will say it again ...
I am "photo manipulation" challenged.
But I like to play around with Gimp.
Most of the time I delete delete delete.
But not this time ...

I think I like the way it turned out!

Guest Heart Thursday #114

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

I was delighted to find Roan's blog, "Rubbish by Roan" ... where my eye was caught, first by her photo of this delightful duck - with a heart on its back, and then by her wonderfully random blog! (And you ALL know how much I love Randomness!!!)

Roan writes ... "sometimes gems can be found in a garbage heap. Go ahead, dig through. You might find something of value."
AMEN!

Thank you, Roan, for sharing your heart!

Once again Owen has found something unusual in Paris ...
And it happens to include a few hearts!

It seems that, since graffiti has been forbidden, people have found another unusual way to pay tribute to Jim Morrison ... and now decorate the tree near his tomb ... with chewing gum.

Be sure to visit Owen's blog, "Magic Lantern Show ... " you will love the side of Paris he shows you ... that you will not see anywhere else!

Thank you again, Owen, for sharing your heart!

When NixBlog posted these delicious looking chocolates, my mouth watered just imagining how wonderful these hearts would taste!

You can visit NixBlog over at "NixPixMix" - but be prepared to stay a while and explore Australia!

Thank you, NixBlog, for sharing your chocolate ... and your heart!

I am always amazed at the beauty and diversity Diane finds in the desert, and posts on her blog, "Desert Colors" ... Be warned, however ... because this is another place you will want to visit and stay for a long, long time!!

And just look at this gorgeous butterfly - a "Marine Blue Butterfly" ... with a heart on her back!!!

Thank you, Diane, for sharing your heart!

If I were ever to decide to visit India, one of the places I would go first is "Unseen Rajasthan's" travel blog ... I have been following this blog for a long time, and am always amazed at the beauty of this most amazing country!!!

Thank you, "Unseen Rajasthan", for sharing your heart!

Graffiti Heart

I found this painted message outside the old swimming pool at The Abandoned a while back.

It was only yesterday that I realized I'm not the only one who has discovered it!!!

A Tiny Heart ...

A tiny bit of construction debris ...
Being slowly surrounded and covered by moss ...
The shadows of the moss caught my eye - and revealed this miniature heart!

Iris Petal Heart

Just down our country road, on the property which is now a Metro "Nature Park", there once stood a house. Mom remembers when a family lived there. When I was growing up, the house was abandoned, and hay was stored inside - stacked to the attic.

The house eventually burned down (they said it was 'spontaneous combustion' from all that hay) ... and the site became first part of the field, and then part of the woods.

Each spring reminders of that old homestead emerge ... daffodils, lilacs and some beautiful white irises.

This year, one of the iris flowers shared its heart with me.
A reminder of the tame life it once had?
Or a celebration of the freedom it now enjoys?

Guest Heart Thursday #113

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

I love seeing Perry's world ... which I find on his appropriately named blog ... "My World"!

Perry is a very talented photographer, who has been playing with his new camera lately, and coming up with some stunning photos!
(Most of all, though, I love Perry's occasional trips to the Coast, and the beautiful photos he brings back from my favorite place in the world!)

Do you see the heart Perry found in the fog? (Hint - it's upside down!)

Thank you, Perry, for sharing your heart!

Siga over at "My Canary Life" made me cry last week; with the beauty of this yellow heart ... perfectly paired with a quote from Nelson Mandela ... "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."

Siga spoke to me in MY language ... and it did indeed go straight to MY heart!

Thank you so much, Siga, for sharing your heart!

"... And There Was Light" is the perfect title for Fly's blog.
I went there to check out this beautiful cloud heart ...
And ended up staying for a long, long time - in awe of the beauty I found!!!

Thank you, Fly, for sharing your heart!

I appreciate Debbie so much ...
Her blog, "It's All About Purple" is another favorite place of mine!

And I especially love it when Debbie posts pictures like this delightful little squirrel ...
With his little heart-shaped folded hands!!!

Thank you, Debbie, for sharing your heart!

Sometimes, when I have a few spare moments, I blog surf.
Sometimes, when I'm blog surfing, I come across an unexpected heart!
Like this one I found posted by Gringo over at "An Unscheduled Stop".

Gringo describes himself as "A Devonian now living in the rural English county of Norfolk enjoying a relatively peaceful life with my wife, and of course my dog, a Beagle, who thinks she’s the boss around here."

Thank you, Gringo, for sharing your "unscheduled" heart!

Wet Stone Heart

I spent a lot of time outside this winter/spring ...
I will only say it had to do with too much water, a hole, and a sump pump and leave it at that.

When things finally started to dry out, I found this heart!

A 'thank you' for all that hard work maybe?

A Heart For Leontien

I got an e-mail in April about a special project ...

Flowers For Leontien ...

I had all kinds of excuses as to why I didn't participate back then.
After reading about Leontien's struggles to thrive despite a devastating diagnosis, my "excuses" are pretty pathetic.

I followed the link to Leontien's blog ... and read back through her posts. Tears overflowed as I read it through.

Leontien ... this wild rose heart is for you.
As are my thoughts and prayers.
